| Frequently Asked Questions - Pet Care |
| Q: Are you insured? A: Yes. We are insured through Pet Sitters Association LLC and can provide a certificate of insurance upon request. Q: How can I check in on my pet when I’m traveling? A: There are a couple of ways to check in on your pet. You can go to my blog on the website and click on Tail of the Day. After each pet sitting visit, I post a detailed note under “Tail of the Day.” I will only mention your pet’s name to ensure your privacy. You can also call or email me for an update. Q: What is your cancellation policy? A: We understand that schedules change. We ask that you notify us as soon as possible if your schedule changes and you are not going to need our service so that we may assist another pet owner during the timeslot you reserved. If you return early from your trip, we will apply the unused balance to your next pet sitting reservation. Q: What is the holiday and overnight cancellation policy? A: 50% payment is due to secure all holiday and overnight reservations. Cancellations one week prior to first visit for holidays or overnight pet sitting are 50% refundable for entire schedule and a credit will be given to be used for future services. Cancellations with less than one weeks notice are non-refundable. Q: What happens if my schedule changes while I’m traveling for business or on vacation? A: Please contact us at your earliest convenience so we can adjust our schedule. If you are coming home early, any unused balance will go towards your next pet sitting reservation. If you fail to notify us that you’re home early and we come to pet sit, we will charge for that visit. If your trip is extended, we will make every effort to accommodate your schedule which generally is not an issue. Again, we do have backup sitters available should the unlikely need to contact one arise. Q: What is your key policy? A: Please be prepared to give the pet sitter 2 sets of house keys during the initial consultation. We are happy to make a 2nd key for you for a fee of $5. If keys are returned, a $5 fee will be charged for each pick-up and return for future jobs. Q: What happens to my house key while you have it? A: Your house key will always be on the pet sitter’s person while she is sitting for your pet. Keys are never labeled with your name or address. Q: What other services besides traditional pet sitting do you offer? A: During your request for pet sitting, please let us know if you would like any errands run during your absence. We’re happy to go to the grocery store so you have fresh food at home when you return, pick up pet food, go to the dry cleaners, etc. We do charge $20/hour for this service plus the cost of the items purchased. You can leave us cash for the items you want purchased and we’ll leave your change as well as the receipt for you. Q: Will you leave me a note? A: Yes. When you arrive home, you will see our handwritten notes from each visit with the events from the visit. If you are curious about whether or not your pet ate all of his food, pooped everyday or whatever your questions might be, just let us know and we’ll keep you posted! Q: Will my home have that “lived in” look while I’m away? A: Yes, at your request we will bring in your mail and newspaper. We will open and close blinds, turn lights/radio/tv on and off and take out your garbage. Q: How do you know I’m home? A: We ask that you call us when you arrive home. We want to make certain that you have arrived as planned. We will leave you a reminder note with our phone number and email address. Q: Will you service other areas outside of midtown and south Charlotte? A: Yes, however please ask about additional charges. |
