When backing up my car, I should look behind me in case there is a tree at the end of my client's driveway. Seeing the tree vs running into the tree is preferable. Ugh!
Lesson Learned #19
Have you ever tried blowing your nose while walking a dog? Try it. It's hard to do. It requires 2 hands and with a leash in one hand, it's hard. I'm just saying. :) One of the many things I've discovered as a dog walker!
Lesson #18 Learned by this Pet Sitter
This goes back to Lesson #2 learned early on in my dog walking career: "Always take at least one more poop bag than you need when walking dogs." If by chance I use the last poop bag I have on me, by now I should remember not to tie the bag up so tightly. Inevitably the dog will poop again and I am stuck trying to untie the bag.
Lesson #17 Learned by this Pet Sitter
I cannot imagine doing this job without a blackberry (or iphone - I just happen to have a bb.) I learned this recently when left my bb at home by mistake. Luckily I was very close to home and was able to pop over and pick it up. I actually thought to myself though, "I should call Don and ask him to meet me and give it to me." Ha... no phone. It would've been really hard to call him!
Lesson 16 Learned by this Pet Sitter
This is really a lesson I would like to learn, actually 2 lessons: 1. When walking dogs, why do they have to walk over and get as close as they can to the road to poop? Sorry if that is TMI... but it happens with a lot of dogs and I'm just curious!
2. When playing tug-a-war with dogs and rope toys (for those owners who allow their dogs to play this game), why do the dogs always want to bite near the handle where my hand is?
Just curious....
Lesson Learned #15
During the winter months, foot warmers are a dog walker's best friend! One of my clients left me a pair before walking her dog and I am hooked! I bought an entire box of them!!
