Always, always, always check the backyard gates to make certain they're closed. Even for dogs that I've seen for 3 years and the gate has never been open, still check! That way Brady whose cute picture I was going to post here but I can't get photobucket.com to work, won't go for a little excursion in the neighbor's yard (and give me heart failure.) He was totally fine and came right to me, thank goodness!
Lesson #43 Learned by this Pet Sitter
So this is more of a question and my take on what the answer might be: Why do all dogs stop and sniff tree branches that fall on the ground? I think it is because they smell like squirrels. Other explanations?
Lesson Learned #42
When walking multiple dogs, having a different colored leash for each dog helps me keep them from getting less tangled. I thought about this when walking my dogs tonight. :)
Lesson Learned #41
Recently I have realized a very surprising, happy lesson: when my clients are having a baby, I am one of the first to be told. Recently I've had 2 clients tell me that they're having a baby. One told me early on in her pregnancy because she knew I would see cards and books in her house congratulating them but she wanted to make certain I kept the information under wraps until they were officially telling others. I am honored and thrilled to learn this lesson! :)
Lesson Learned #40 by this pet sitter
For those that know me, you know I'm not a fan of retractable leashes for safety reasons. Here is another reason. When it is cold, I can't put my hand in my pocket when holding a retractable leash.
Lesson Learned #39
When it is raining really hard and is supposed to rain all day, I should take 2 pair of shoes with me. I usually take 2 raincoats so one can dry off while I'm wearing the other one but 2 pair of shoes would be great when the first pair get too muddy to wear until I can wash them off! I am thankful for croc-type boots and whatever that material is that keeps my feet dry. :)
