Dog Walking on Monday 6/28

Chester & Bailey - I took "the monsters" for a short walk to the end of the street and back. Everybody peed and pooped. Bailey was ready for me to throw the ball for her when we got back.... Chester stayed in the house in the a/c. Surprised? Not!! 2nd visit: they had dinner and then we went for another walk.

Lucy - She was very patriotic today... I wish I covered captured this moment in a photo. She stood staring at the flag waving in the wind in front of the school. It looked like she was standing at attention. Too, too cute! 2nd walk: she walked more, not as much stopping. There was a crew of men doing street work this morning - maybe that is why she kept turning around. They were gone this afternoon. She does seemed to get scared easily so maybe that was the problem this morning! She got pretty frightened by a kid trying to fly a kite this afternoon. I'll try to work on her confidence some while I'm walking her.
Homer & Easter - Homer greeted me at the door and Easter sounded ready to get out of her crate. :) I fed them dinner and then I did leave them outside when I left.

Jackson & Quigley - They are definitely in the running for fastest eaters out of all of my dog clients! Wow - you weren't kidding. On the walk, Quigley actually pulled more than Jackson. I was really trying to keep on one side of me, walking at a heel and not pulling. I wasn't all that successful. I would recommend different collars - these collars are really pressing on their laranyx when then walk which could cause damage. We didn't walk all that far, just around the complex. I think the more they walk with me, the more they'll understand what I want from them. Amazingly, Jackson did pretty well. :)

PJ - PJ has greeted me every time I've come into the house. Maybe he learned that from Ben? He is always ready for his food too and he starts to eat when I fill his bowl. He loves his canned food!
Sib & Huski - Sib greeted me at the door again and Huski came around from where her food bowl is. The walk was short but fine... Huski's leg seemed to be okay today.
pet sitting on Sat 6/26

Homer & Easter - they got 2 morning visits from me. I made them my first visit this morning so I could leave them outside while I went to do my next visit which was close by. I'd be driving past essentially past your house afterwards and I thought they'd enjoy the time outside when it wasn't so hot. (I left them in yesterday since you had b/c it was still hot even at dinner time.) I fed them on my first visit and just dropped back in to put them both inside.

PJ - PJ is doing just fine today. His bowl was almost empty tonight so I know he was glad to see me!
Sib & Huski - they are just fine and both are fed!! :)

George & Alex - we had 2 good visits. Short walks though.... Alex did poop on both walks but he also just wanted to eat stuff. Alex!! I fed them (Alex got his lunch too.) It seems as though he is not eating as fast as he used to... or was that my imagination? Cutie-pie George was just willing to go along with whatever: walk, dinner, petting, sleeping... he was fine with anything we did! :)
pet sitting on Friday 6/25

Sam & Riley - the boys greeted me this morning with a bunch of barking... they are very good watch dogs! I let them out and then fed them. I'd forgotten what a pig Sam is.... he ate Riley's food too! (sorry... I know he doesn't need to eat more than what I fed him.) I closed him out of the washer/dryer room and fed Riley so he could eat in peace. I let them outside and we stayed out for the rest of the visit. I thought they'd enjoy spending time outside when it wasn't so hot.
Homer & Easter - I love Homer's new do! I had to laugh at him though... I wasn't expecting it. Both peed and pooped and after I fed them, Easter found the end of a rawhide that she carried around. I didn't see another bone to give Homer (I asked him if he ate his already!) and so I filled the hollow bone with a few treats which he seemed to like. After he was done with it, they of course switched!
PJ - PJ greeted me at the top of the stairs and he got lots of lovin' especially the his brother and sister aren't home. I think he liked it! He was purring up a storm!

Sib & Huski - they were just fine this morning and everyone enjoyed our visit. Sib was just barking at me. I think he was saying, "Take me for a walk! Take me for a walk!!" One of the feeders dropped the food while I was there, the other one didn't. There wasn't any food stuck in it that I could feel and I had dumped out the food that was in there yesterday. I changed out the water in their water bowl. It was really dirty but then the water didn't want to refill. I went and turned the hose off and turn it back on and then it filled up. It had stopped filling so hopefully I didn't turn it back on too strong... I don't think I did.
dog walking on Thurs 6/24

Sib & Huski - they are both doing fine. I was greeted when I opened the door by Sib and Huski got up to say hello too. I went to take them for a walk and we got about 1/3 way down the driveway and Huski fell over. She ended up laying on her side and stayed that way for several minutes. I'm guessing her back leg gave away but I don't know for certain. I stood beside her and just talked to her. She didn't seem stressed out at all but she wasn't trying to get up. Sib of course was ready to go for his walk but that was all the further we went. I got a towel out of my car to put under her to help her up once she was ready. Within a few minutes, she was trying to roll onto her tummy. She did get up and I took them back inside.
I know she wants to go for walks but given that experience, I'm not comfortable walking her. If that would've happened in the street, we would've been in trouble. I hope that is okay. I'll just spend some time hanging out with them. Perhaps if she seems okay, I will walk them up and down the driveway. I did give both of them their treats before I left which they enjoyed!

George & Alex - well... look at who I got to see today! Alex is still wearing his cone but I'm guessing hasn't missed a step and George was the same ole cuddle bug as always!

Max & Genny - I let them out to pee and then they both came in to eat their breakfast. Afterwards, Max went outside for awhile but then he was ready to go inside. Genny stayed outside the entire visit! Not surprising!!

Sam & Riley - the boys have bones now. They seemed happy when I left although Sam looked like he was going to try to protect it! He actually growled at me during the visit. Riley was outside, he was laying down inside so I was going to go over and pet him. I'm guessing he didn't want me too (I'd not given him the bone yet.) I'm not sure what was up with that behavior!
Allie & Tilly - they continue to make Shannon laugh! After Allie ate her supper last night and played a bit in the front yard, they went around back to pick up where they left off with the last game of ball. She threw the ball and out of nowhere comes Tilly and POUNCES! She wins!!!
