pet sitting on Sunday 8/29
Here is Shannon's note from Saturday and it is very clear that Basil likes her.... the feeling is mutual based upon her comment. (She has 2 cats herself.) Basil is doing really well today! We've been snuggling for about 30min! Hes been drooling wildly and even blew a bubble! He might be sweeter than my own boys!!! He's gotten all of his needs met plus plenty o' luv!!
Chester & Bailey - Hank sent me a quick note yesterday that they're doing just fine!
Sam and Riley - I know that Laura left you a vm yesterday. So far, Riley's tummy seems okay. We'll keep our fingers crossed that he doesn't have any more problems! I'll ask her about Sam's growling too to see how he's doing as well. She hasn't mentioned it - I forgot to ask her yesterday.
Sam's recovery from surgery
As you can see, Sam is no worse for the wear. He was definitely wobbly on his feet the first night but by the middle of the night, he was ready for a walk. Ever since then, he's been back to normal and ready to go for his daily walks. The vet said he might not be hungry.... I looked at her and laughed. He'd not eaten before surgery and it was 5pm... he'd be hungry! Sammy doesn't like to skip meals!!
Dog running with Buddy on Wed 8/25 and surgery for Sam
Buddy got a run in today then he got to go for a car ride to the vet's to get his nails clipped. Sam went along for the car ride too and unfortunately was left at the vet to have surgery today. My 12.5 year old boy needs to have 3 masses removed: one on the top of his head, one under his eye and one in his eyelid. It's the one in his eyelid that finally made me pull the trigger and get them removed. He's had the other 2 "bumps" for years. The one on his eyelid recently showed itself and it has been bothering him.
So, Sam is not going to have a good day, therefore I'm not having a great one either. Worry, worry, worry.....
Buddy on the other hand is ready for a nap! It's been a big day for The Budster and it's just 9am!!
Pet Sitting on Saturday 8/21

Benjamin, Frankie & PJ - well someone has an upset tummy. I really don't know which one it is though. I've cut back on their food and will keep an eye on them. Benjamin pooped this morning on the walk and it was normal so maybe it is Frankie whose tummy doesn't feel good. Both are acting just fine and eating too. There was a mess on the carpet in the tv room upstairs (I cleaned it using the shampooer) and there was a mess on the carpet downstairs too.
Suki & Yuki - they've been just great. We got to see some neighbors on our late night walk last night and they loved that!
Dog and Cat Sitting on Friday 8/20
Suki & Yuki - Last night after our walk, I sat down on the floor. Yuki laid down right beside me and Suki crawled up in my lap. Wish I would've had my camera. They were pretty cute! We walked this morning but Yuki let me know he was ready to head to the house (he was digging his feet into the ground.) He headed right for his food bowl, I think he was ready for breakfast! Ben, Frankie & PJ - Frankie slept on the floor in my bathroom (I had to step around her during the night, in the dark!), I'm not certain where Frankie slept but I think Ben slept in the half bath downstairs. That's where I found him this morning. He didn't bark.... or if he did, I was sleeping really hard and didn't hear him. :) Maybe that's where he wanted to sleep all night. Both dogs pooped on the walk this morning.
dog walking on Thurs 8/19

Suki & Yuki- it rained over night and it was raining when I walked my dogs this morning. I got lucky with Suki & Yuki. It had stopped raining by then. We walked for a little ways, both peed several times but then Suki was ready to turn around. After feeding them breakfast, we hung out for quite awhile. I didn't have any other visits right away and I figured they'd enjoy the company. I think they did! btw - I can certainly tell the dogs apart in person, it's just these pictures that sometimes I can't tell for sure!!
