Lesson Learned #44

Always, always, always check the backyard gates to make certain they're closed.  Even for dogs that I've seen for 3 years and the gate has never been open, still check!  That way Brady whose cute picture I was going to post here but I can't get photobucket.com to work, won't go for a little excursion in the neighbor's yard (and give me heart failure.)  He was totally fine and came right to me, thank goodness!

Milo - We had a nice walk yesterday afternoon.  It started to rain here right afterwards too - we got lucky!  I apologized to Milo this morning.  I forgot to tell him about the time change so when I got there this morning at 7am, he probably thought it was 8am.  (now, this is where I always confuse myself.  the morning after the time change, turn the clocks back, means that 7am is 8am, right?  or is is the other way around....??  i can never get that straight in my head.)  Anyway, I fed him first this morning in case he thought he was starving and then we took our walk.  :)

Hank and Lula - They both greeted me at the door (and no hissing.... until Lula went for Hank's food bowl.)  I scooped their box too. Sparky - I went by early and let her out and fed her and then ran back by this morning to let her out for the day.

Sparky - I fed her dinner last night and then she seemed ready for night night.  This morning I went over just before 6am and let out to zoom around for a few minutes and then I fed her breakfast.  I'll go back over shortly and put her outside for the day.

Chester and Bailey - I saw them last night and again this morning.  They wrestled around in the yard last night (which I stopped because they were too close to the brick wall and I was afraid Chester was going to fall.)  He didn't seem concerned at all but I was!  I took them for a short walk this morning after breakfast. Ollie, Fozzy and Sunny - I am going to stop back by again mid-morning to check on Fozzy.  It was so dark this morning when I was there I couldn't see his leg very well.  I want to make certain it is okay.

Sadie and Millie -  Millie had peed again when I got to the visit last night.  The midday person was there at 1:30 and said they'd had a bunch of water after their walk and I got there just after 8pm.  They both peed on the walk this morning 2x and Sadie pooped but Millie didn't.

Strega, Sun, Nebula and Nova - They are all loving meal time.   There weren't as many bowl hopping attempts yesterday.  They all finished at about the same time.

Lesson #43 Learned by this Pet Sitter

So this is more of a question and my take on what the answer might be:  Why do all dogs stop and sniff tree branches that fall on the ground?  I think it is because they smell like squirrels.  Other explanations?
