Fillmore - I think his nickname should be the mayor.  As we're walking yesterday and this morning, as cars drive by or people walk by, he has to stop and look at them as if he's greeting them and saying hello.  It is hilarious.  Yesterday one of your neighbors pulled into their driveway as we were walking back and he turned it up a notch to walk faster to try to get over to say hello.  Funny dog!  He's doing just great.

Sweetie -I've been walking her every visit.  Longer walks in the morning and then shorter walks when it is hotter outside.

Fillmore -He was just fine this morning.... ready for breakfast of course even though he'd had an extra snack last night on the visit.  I didn't see any accidents at all in the house and he pooped on the walk this morning and it was normal.  I should've known something was up last night... his nose was very busy and I should've guessed it was food that he was after.  Ugh!

Rocky, Lucky, Mattie and Cotton -they're all doing just fine.  It stormed last night so I didn't throw the stick too much for Lucky this morning b/c I didn't want her to get all muddy.  I took the dogs out, then brought them in to feed everyone and then I took the dogs out again.

Sparky - She went zooming out the door this morning but it wasn't long before I heard her back at the door.  She was ready to come in for breakfast.  I fed her and she went zooming out the door again.  I refilled both water bowls and I fed the fish too.

Turkey Lurkey - I saw her yesterday.  Her food and water bowls were just fine.  I refilled the water bowl in the garage.  She'd been lounging on one of the chairs on your back deck.  I guess she was enjoying being outside before it got too hot!  Hope you're having a great time.... I'm sure you are!

And I saw a possum last night.... the wildlife viewing continues :) Sunny, Louis and Lola - they were funny again last night.  All 3 of them playing once I put them on the bed.  Louis finally had enough and came over and laid down right beside me then everyone settled down and we went "night night."  We had a nice long walk this morning too.

Sweetie - I walked her around the block this morning.  She peed 2x and pooped 2x.  I'll walk her later today too but I wanted to do the long walk when it wasn't 100 degrees outside.  100% humidity it felt like but at least not 100 degrees.  Oh, I met the new dog that lives next door.  He's a big guy!

Scooby - he was interested in following a lady who was out for her morning walk this morning.  He followed her for a little ways but then we turned back.  He was eating his breakfast as I left.

Rocky, Lucky, Mattie and Cotton - the dogs enjoyed hanging out in the yard and Lucky of course wanted to chew on sticks.  I fed them all after we came inside and I scooped the litter box.

Jackson - he sniffed around the yard this morning.  He'd been after something last night so I think he was trying to find whatever it was.  He didn't find anything and eventually gave up. :)

Ginger - I walked her midday and last night.  Your brother's car was there this morning so I didn't go in.  I've walked in on him / woken him up a few times this week.  I figured I'd let him sleep on a Saturday morning.  I'll run by there mid-morning and see if his car is there.  If not, I'll take Ginger out then and again early afternoon.

What is it with me and wildlife this week?  Yesterday afternoon at 2pm (seriously the middle of the afternoon), I was driving through a neighborhood close to mine on my way to a regular midday client and I see a raccoon.  My initial reaction was "wow, a raccoon, I don't think I've ever seen one before."  My next thought was... what is it doing out in the middle of the day.  Perhaps suffering from dehydration and heat exhaustion.  It stopped and stared at me (I was stopped at a stop sign) and then it swayed and wobbled as it tried to walk.  It ended up going down into a sewer drain and then I wondered if maybe it had rabies.  Poor thing.  It's face was really cute. Sunny, Louis and Lola - Sunny woke me up in the middle of the night to go out so all of us ended up going out.  We took a walk this morning in the neighborhood behind yours so they got a good chance to stretch their legs.

Scooby -  He's been playful the last several visits.  This morning he pulled his raccoon out of his toy box and I had to laugh.  (See note above!)  He's doing just fine, enjoying his walks.  He's eating well too.

Lucky, Rocky, Mattie & Cotton - They were just fine both visits yesterday.  Lucky is crazy and she had a great visit this morning.  She chased sticks, chewed on sticks, peed, pooped 2x, ate some breakfast and played in the water when I watered the plants.  I eventually had to hold onto her collar to keep her from running through the spray.  Rocky just kind of hung out and sniffed around.  Mattie and Cotton are fine too.  I fed them all and scooped the kitty box this morning.

Jackson - He enjoyed running around the yard this morning and a walk.  He's eating pretty good too... he's always excited when I put new food in his bowl.

Sweetie - she was my first visit this morning after leaving Sunny, Louis and Lola.  On my way to your house, I heard that it is supposed to be 100 today with a heat index over 105.  We walked this morning. :)  I will walk her midday too but I wanted to get her out when it wasn't so hot.  105 is going to be a little warm.  (I just stopped typing to drink some water. :) )   She peed 2x and pooped on the walk this morning.

Jackson....lounging!

Jackson - Jackson was just hanging out last night after he'd sniffed around the backyard and ate a little dinner.  This morning we went for a walk.  He was 2 feet underneath a bush before my thumb hit the button to stop him.  We stood like that for a few minutes before he finally gave up and came out.  I guess he realized I wasn't going to let him go any further and he wasn't going to get the chipmunk or whatever he was after!

Scooby -  After our walk this morning, we played a little bit and then we hung out in the sunroom.  He ate a little bit of his breakfast too.

Sunny, Louis and Lola - They are all doing just fine.  Louis heard something that made him start to bark in the middle of the night.  Just the low, grumble kind of bark... not full-fledged barking.  He settled down and we all went back to sleep again.

Instead of lions and tigers and bears, oh my.  I've got:  mosquitoes, possums and snakes, oh my.  Yuck!  Mosquitoes love me.  I've been lucky so far this summer, they've stayed away from me (without having to use some sort of spray.)  Well that has ended this week.  Last night I somehow managed to get the spray in my mouth.  Not good and now I know why my dogs sneeze when I use it.  Yuck!  Last night while walking Scooby, he went tearing after something... low and behold it was a baby possum and guess what, they really do play dead.  When I saw what it was, it was laying with its eyes open on its side.  I thought:  it's dead.  Well, this morning it was gone so I'm guessing it was just playing dead.  Yuck!  While walking Scooby through the garden this morning, I saw a snake.  My initial reaction was to scream (but I didn't.)  Then I thought... that looks fake but I'm too chicken to get close to it to find out.  Seriously... YUCK!!!!  Scooby had no interest in it so I'm thinking probably fake.  Am hoping fake. :) Scooby - well.... I'm having some adventures with him that I'd probably prefer not to have but he's doing just fine!  He's eating well and loving his walks.

Jackson - I took him for a walk this morning and he was pretty happy about it.  He was running all around and huffing and puffing when we got back.  Last night was pretty neat to be in your backyard.  Several owls up in the trees around your house and they were all talking to each other.  That kind of wildlife interaction I can handle!

Eli, Peyton and Chaos - they're all doing fine too.  Eli has started escorting me to the front door when I leave and then I get a couple of barks when I'm locking the door.  I think she is telling me goodbye.  Peyton wanted to play this morning.  She was funny, jumping around, getting all excited.  Not much of a vertical leap though. :)

Sunny, Louis and Lola - what is it about the playing really gets going when I put them all on the bed?  They all played with each other last night and were pretty funny.  I thought Lola wanted to get up during the night so I got up with her but she didn't do anything and then slept through the rest of the night.
