Dog Walking and Cat Sitting on Sunday Jan 17

Samantha - We had a nice walk this morning.  There wasn't hardly anyone else out so it was nice and quiet.  We had quite a bit of rain overnight so we had to avoid the puddles - Sam didn't mind them but I wanted to avoid them.  I toweled her off before we went inside because she didn't avoid all of the puddles like I did!  Luckily it wasn't raining this morning.  She'd eaten about half of her food so I gave her some more and she took her medicine.

Buddy - Buddy must sleep hard or he likes to sleep in, I'm not sure which.  I stood at the bottom of the stairs and called him this morning.  I heard him jump down off of something (hopefully something that it is okay that he is on!) and he came downstairs.  He went outside 3 different times during my visit.  He'd eaten all of his food from last night so I refilled his bowl.

Hero - Hero wasn't too crazy about the ground being wet this morning so our walk was a little shorter than normal.  He took care of all of his business though.

Lo & Sprinkles - the kitties seemed to be just fine this morning.  They'd eaten all of the food I left them yesterday and they were maybe not so patiently waiting for me to open their canned food this morning and feed them!

It has turned out to be a really busy day so this is going to be brief and I will download the pictures Sunday morning.  Sorry it is now Saturday night.... I am a little tired and football is on :) Hero - He got to check out a couple of other dogs (from afar) while we were out walking this morning.  His little legs can go pretty fast which doesn't seem quite fair that my much longer legs can't keep up with him!

Lo & Sprinkles - I have pictures that I will try to download later tonight or tomorrow mid-morning.  Someone had diarrhea near the litter box in the laundry room.  Both kitties seemed to be feeling just fine though.  There bowls were empty when I got there so I fed them and they both ate, then I found the diarrhea.  I cleaned it up (fairly well) although it was on the plastic mat by the box so that probably needs to be rinsed off really good.

Mickey - We had a really nice walk and then some play time inside.  At first he didn't seem to want to play but I don't think I had the right toys.  He likes that cougar and chased it several times.  He drank some water a couple of times but he didn't eat at all.  I did give him treats in his kong before I left.

Brady & Ferguson - We saw a lot of people today.  Some workers and a couple of kids (not sure if they live there or not.)  B&F liked seeing them and the little girls seemed to like them too!

Samantha -  She looks like she has lost weight (or perhaps I'm just used to looking at my black lab Buddy who could stand to lose a few pounds.)  We went for a long walk and she peed many times and she pooped too.  It didn't look like she'd eaten much if anything - she still had a good bit of food in her bowl.  2nd visit - we took about a 25 minute walk unfortunately in the rain.  I had a towel with me and dried her off when we got back inside.  She ate a little bit and I gave her her medicine too.

Diesel & Madden - we took a nice walk around the complex and one of your neighbors commented on how pretty Diesel is.  (I don't think it bothered him to be called pretty!  :) )  Both boys peed several times and they pooped too.  2nd walk:  it wasnt raining very much when I walked them so Madden did just fine.  Madden peed a couple of time and Diesel peed several.

Buddy -  Buddy's hair was standing on his back when I opened the door but after a couple of sniffs (see all the dogs listed above that I had seen before him), I think he realized I was okay and I certainly smelled good to him.  I tossed the tennis ball for him a few times and he carried around with him for awhile too.  2nd visit:  he didnt greet me at the door which surprised me.  He was sitting on the staircase and when he came down he stretched.  I am guessing he was sleeping!  He went outside and peed and then came back in and ate a little bit.  I let him out a 2nd time before I left.

Dog Walking on Friday 1/15/2010

Brady & Ferguson - Ferguson wasn't up for much exercise today.  We walked all the way around the circle but he sat down several times and really had to be coaxed to walking again.  He seemed like he felt fine.... I think he was just having a lazy day. Louis, Sunny and Lola - Louis and Sunny enjoyed their walk today.  They played again some too - chasing each other around.  I closed the door when I went in the room with Lola because the maid was vacuuming.  Lola seemed afraid - she just quivered.  I picked her up and held her and that seemed to help.  I couldn't get her to pee though when I'd put her down on the potty pad.  She had used the one in her crate.  She would eat a little bit when I'd put it on my hand but I think she was more concerned about the noise the vacuum was making.

Max - Max definitely likes this warmer weather.  He went outside and peed and then he sniffed quite a bit.

Daisy, Deja, Marley & Paris - I got to hang out with the big dogs tonight (well one of them isn't so big but she thinks she is!!)  haha  I walked Daisy first and she was easy.  As we discussed, it is nice when I know that I am stronger than her.  Then I walked Deja.  Of course right when we got in front of your house down by the street I see a man walking toward us (on the other side of the street) with his dog off-leash.  Deja sees them too and starts barking.  I had ahold of her good but trying to get her to walk was a little challenging but I did and they kept going to.  After that, the walk was uneventful :)  Marley was ready to go when we got back and like you said, all you have to do is say his name and he looks at you like "what'd I do wrong?"  He is strong though but such a sweetie.  Everybody peed several times and they all pooped too.  When we got back I fed them and then Deja licked everyone else's bowls.  Then she picked up what I think was a dinasaur and had to show it to me.  I tried to get her pix with it but I couldn't b/c she wouldn't stand still.  I had fun!  Thanks for letting me hang out with them tonight.  And thanks for the hot chocolate... no one has ever left me a treat before.  That was really nice of you!

Maggie - Maggie tried eating "more stuff" again today too.  I kept a pretty tight rein on her so her ability to find things was limited.  I still think she enjoyed the sniffing! Louis & Sunny - They were funny today and they had me laughing.  We walked around the circle and Louis had to bark at a few of the workers.  On the way back, Louis starting chasing after Sunny.  At first I didn't think Sunny was going to go for it but he did.  They chased each other around.  Louis would grab ahold of the fur around Sunny's jacket and Sunny kept trying to get at Louis too.  They had fun and I did too!

Dog Walking on Wed 1/13/10

Maggie - Maggie and I have something in common.  We both like Chinese food.  She tried to eat a packet of duck sauce today.  She did not want to give it up but she did :)  She tried eating leaves this afternoon.  Crazy girl. Brady & Ferguson - they made 2 workers in the neighborhood laugh today.  They were barking at a paint can.  You could tell there were a little afraid of it.... I must say it was pretty funny.

Max - Max went outside and peed today and he sniffed around a little bit too.

Cleo - Cleo walked to the park and back.  On the way there she rolled on her back in 2 different yards and then she did it again when we got to the park.  She also got to see some kids along the way.

Diesel & Madden - (as in John Madden!)  You know I like this dog if he's got a name associated with football :)  We went for a nice walk around the complex and Diesel peed on so many things I stopped counting.  (I will usually mention if a dog pees twice, etc...)  Madden peed a few times too but not like Diesel - he had to mark everything.  They were really good and didn't pull or anything.  I fed them when we got back and gave them some more water (Madden drank it all!)

Dog Walking on Tues 1/12/10

Well... I just realized I put the wrong date on everything so far today - it is not the 11th.  Today's theme was been:  all dogs must eat anything that looks interesting while out on their walk (with the exception of Max and Lucy.) Maggie - Maggie tried to eat a gumball (I don't know what to call them but the spiky hard brown balls that are all over the ground right now), a piece of paper and something else that I'll just call dirt :)

Lucy - Lucy was awesome today following my commands as we walked.  A couple of times she started to pull so I gently corrected her and she'd fall right back into place.  I think she had a good time on the walk and I threw the ball for her a couple of times when we got back too.

Brady & Ferguson - Since the boys tried to eat everything they could yesterday (and they still went after the mulch a couple of times today), I walked them in the street around the circle 2 times.  We ran part of the time too.  Fergie found a ball and wanted to make it his but I took it from him and left it where we found it.

Max - Max was sprawled out on his side really sleeping hard when I came in today.  He woke up and we went outside.

Cleo - Miss Cleo walked further than she ever has today.  I actually wasn't sure if we were going to get lost or not - we didn't.  Luckily we just made a big circle.  Her leg didn't seem to bother her at all.
