Dog walking and cat sitting on Monday 1/4/10

Maggie - Maggie doesn't seem to mind the cold.  She was perfectly content to walk around and sniff.  She wanted to take off running a couple of times too! Brady & Ferguson - they don't mind the cold either.  They both peed and pooped and then they sat down and watched some guys unload a truck.  Brady of course barked at them!

Max - Max went outside and peed and sniffed a little bit.

Basil - Basil was sleeping on your bed.  I pet him and we played for awhile with the green string too.

Sassy & Trouble- Trouble came up to me right away but Sassy was a little more reserved.  By the time I left, they were both right by me.  They seem to be doing just fine and they're definitely keeping each other company.

Kai and Gracie - Kai was looking at me through the window as I walked up.  They were both ready to go outside this morning.  I took them outside twice, fed them all and tried to clean up the blue chair stuffing that was on the floor! Basil - Basil and I played a good bit today.  He liked chasing the green string.

Amy and Romeo - Amy was excited to see me this morning.  I asked her if she knew how cold it was outside but she didn't care :)  We went for a walk and then I fed them both breakfast.  I got a chance to rub on Romeo a little bit too (before he ate of course because once I put his food down, that's where he wanted to go!!)

Ruby - She had chewed on the bone that I left out last night but she still shredded the potty pad.  She'd eaten all of her dinner too.

Pet sitting on Saturday 1/2

Kai and Gracie - the blue chair is going to be glad when you are home.  It sustained some more damage overnight.... some padding this time.  2nd visit:  The chair survived the afternoon with no additional damage.  I think Kai must be pretty bored... this time he went after cat when we came inside.  The poinsettia on top of the table got knocked over when the kitty scampered away. Basil - He is missing you so I spent the entire time brushing and petting him.  He does love it and I don't think he wanted me to stop!

Ruby - We had a repeat of yesterday.  She'd shredded the potty pad, I took her for a walk and then she came back in and peed and pooped on the new potty pad.  She soaked it pretty good so I put down another clean one and threw that one away!

Sassy & Trouble - well the kitties had a little bit of a rough morning with the alarm going off.  While I was scooping out the litter box, Trouble decided to climb in!  It looked like they'd eaten and they still had plenty of water.  Hopefully the alarm issue is solved and the next visit will be uneventful!!! :)

Hanna - she barked when I came in but she was ready to go outside.  She went outside and peed but then she was ready to come right back in.  It is cold out!

Amy barked at me when I walked up but she started wagging her tail as soon as I got inside.  I've seen quite a few dogs today....I'm sure I smelled good to her or maybe she remembered me :)  I grabbed her leash and we went for a walk.  This one was a little shorter - the wind was freezing!  Romeo met us at the door when we got back and I fed them both their dinner.

Pet Sitting on New Years Day 2010

Kai and Gracie - They were doing just fine this morning.  I took them outside twice and then I gave them treats before I left.  2nd and 3rd visits:  A little more of the skirt on the blue chair was in shreds tonight.  The good news is they are eating, peeing and pooping well!!  :) Basil - I sat down and immediately starting petting Basil today.  I waited until the very end of my visit to feed him and clean out his box.  He seemed to like that..... he was eating when I left.

Ruby - Ruby loves to go for walks.  She enjoyed herself today and then we came back inside and played.  She'd eaten all of her dinner from last night and she'd peed and pooped too!  2nd visit:  we went for our walk and right when we got back she peed and pooped.  When I first got there, she had shredded the potty pad.

Turkey Lurky - We have the routine down.  She comes from downstairs, wants to be pet a little bit and then will go eat some.  I sit down (with a book typically at the table although today I spied your cookbooks so I looked at a few of them!) and she'll come by to be pet, eat some more and then eventually she lays down.

Hanna - Hanna barked when I came in tonight.  I guess I disturbed her sleeping... she was on the couch nestled in the pillows!

Happy Anniversary to our Buddy

It was a year ago today that Don and I adopted Buddy.  We love him!

Kai & Gracie - I snuck up on them this morning.  I could see inside the curtain in the den and they were laying right beside each other sleeping.  They were sooooo cute!  Needless to say, they heard me and the barking started!  I took them both outside and they peed and pooped.  2nd & 3rd visits - well after tonight's visit, the fabric on the chair has sustained some more damage.   There were pieces of it laying on the carpet.... someone (Kai, I'm guessing) had a busy afternoon / evening. Basil - Basil is missing you.  He was really meowing today.  If I stopped petting him (to clean out his box or feed him), he'd start meowing again.  I pet him and brushed him.  I tried playing with him too but he really just wanted to be loved on!

Ruby - She is so cute.  She had pooped this morning so I cleaned that up and then we went for our walk.  Luckily it wasn't raining :)  She pranced around and checked everything and everyone out and then we went back in the house.  I threw out the food she hadn't eaten and gave her fresh.  2nd visit:  She had pooped again AND she'd eaten all of her breakfast.  We went for a walk and I gave her some more food and a treat because she was a very good girl!!

Max - woke up as I came in and we went outside so he could pee.
