the pet sitter on Sunday 2/21

Jay & Chloe- they'd eaten all of their food from yesterday so I refilled their bowls.  I gave Chloe some treats and then Jay and I went to play outside.  Your neighbor was outside and thought I was you!  She said, "you're up awfully early!"  I cleaned out Chloe's box before I left too.

What a great day.  The weather is awesome!! Jay & Chloe - both visits:  they're doing just fine.  I just got back from the 2nd visit and I was throwing the ball for Jay.  I could never be a pitcher.... I hit the truck with a very wet, slobbery tennis ball.  Sorry about that.  Jay didn't care, she still found it.  I was trying to throw it really fast (because she is so fast) but that didn't work out so well on my end.  Chloe was doing just fine too.  She misses you.  She was up in my face as I was leaving you the note at the house so I gave her some rubbing too!  I've also given both of them a treat each time I'm there.

Hero - we had a nice walk and he took care of all of his business and then he even wanted to walk a little more!

Diesel & Madden - They were ready to go outside when I got there and we had a nice, long walk.  Diesel pooped (he actually had diarrhea.)  The weather was soooo nice, all three of us enjoyed it!

Dog walking and cat sitting on Fri 2/19

Steve - He crawled in my lap this morning, curled up and laid down.  I was in heaven.  We didn't stay that way very long.... I was there to get him up and moving around not sleeping :) plus my old legs can't sit on the floor like that for long.  We had fun.  He chased after his bear (I paid attention to what type of animal his toy is) and he ate all of his breakfast.  On the afternoon visit he got brave.  While we were outside, he did quite a bit of sniffing, even right next to the fence where Benjamin lives.  He put his head right up to the fence as if he was looking for Benjamin... it was pretty funny!  Well.... it was funny because Benjamin wasnt outside! Sunny & Louis - they enjoyed their walk but they only peed today.  Granted they both peed many, many times but that was it. :)

Max - Max was rather spry today.  He was awake when I came in, he got right up and walked pretty fast (I'd almost call it a trot) to the door.  He hopped right down the stairs, went out and peed and then he hopped right back up them again.

Dusty - his haircut looks pretty cute!

Jay & Chloe -I Just realized the title for today was dog walking.... up until tonight it had just been dog walking but I didnt want to leave Miss Chloe out so I added cat sitting :)  They are both just fine.  Chloe met me at the door, Jay must have been sleeping.  I gave Chloe a few treats and Jay and I went outside.  She peed and I threw the ball for her a few times.  They had both eaten all of their food so I gave them a little more.

It's my niece's birthday... she's the one who is pictured on the flash on the first page of my website holding her dog Em.  Happy Birthday Cookie! Hero - He was finally ready to take care of all of his business today.  It didn't take him very long either.  Silly guy!

Maggie - I call her Maggie Moo.  We had a nice walk today in the sunshine.  She tried to grab a receipt that was laying on the ground.  Sneaky girl.

Steve - oh Steve, cutie pie Steve.  He doesn't have a nickname yet.  I'll have to work on that.  We had fun today.  We played fetch in the house.  In the morning we played with his mini-tennis ball and in the afternoon we played with his toy (I can't even think of what it is right now.... it's gray.)  I'd toss his toy and he'd chase after it and bring it to me.  I was careful not to play tug-a-war with him.  He peed a couple of times, both visits but he didn't poop today.

Brady & Ferguson - we worked on proper leash walking again today.  They get it.  Ferguson actually did better today.  Brady wanted to wander off but I didn't let him.  He did finish his breakfast too.

Max - Max was stretched out on his side sleeping when I came in today.  He didn't hear me.  He did wake up though and we went outside so he could pee.

Dusty - Dusty trotted around before letting me know it was time to go back inside so he could have his dinner!

Dog walking on Wed 2/17

Hero - It was cold this morning and the little guy wanted his time outside to be quick.  He walked a little bit but after peeing a few times, he was ready to come back inside. Maggie - Maggie walked nicely on the leash today.  She took care of all of her business too.

Brady & Ferguson - The boys were ready to play today.  While I had their leashes on outside they started chasing each other.  I mean really chasing each other.  I made them stop because I thought someone might get hurt.  They of course were fine and just having fun.

Sunny & Louis - I carried Sunny for part of the walk today.  He was cold and dug his feet in like he wasn't going any further.  :)  So I picked him up and we snuggled for a little bit while Louis explored.

Max - Max looked a little sleepier than usual today.  He was fairly wobbly today when he got up but he did and he went outside and peed.

Cleo - Cleo and I were walking along and she started to limp a little bit so I turned her around and cut the walk short.  I think she would've gone further but I didn't want to cahnce it.

Dusty - Dusty and I enjoyed a brisk walk.  Thank goodness he walks fast because it was cold and walking fast warms me up!

the dog walker on Tues Feb 16

Have I mentioned that I LOVE my job?  Today was a great reminder why and Lesson #13: Reason #1 why I love my job:  Hero - Hero and I had a nice walk.  We both enjoyed the sunshine.  He is such a sweet boy and I get to talk to his mom everyday too and I really like her.

I kept telling Steve how cute he is!

Reason #2:  Steve.  Need I say more.  Just take a look at that face!  I didn't realize my camera battery was about dead so I only got a couple of pictures.  When I walked into his room, he was sitting up in his "pit" looking ready to go outside.  I picked him up, grabbed his "stuff" and we went outside.  He peed right away (go potty!) so he got a "good boy" and treats.  We went inside and played which consisted of me throwing a few of his toys and occasionally he would "fetch" and me trying to keep him from biting at my shoelaces and my hair!

I fed him and he ate it all (Murphy and I both enticed him to eat.)  Steve noticed that Murphy had a strong interest in his food so that's when he decided he should eat.  Murphy knows the command "no," that is one smart kitty!  After Steve ate, we played some more and then we went back outside again.  He peed again (same routine as last time, go potty, treats, good boy!) and then we came inside.  Benjamin and Frankie were outside and actually got of their fence and came over into your yard.  I had scooped Steve up so he was just fine and safe.  The other 2 dogs didn't get close to Steve.  They were really more interested in sniffing the yard.  Madison made a couple of appearances too and I was able to give both of the kitties a few scratches too.  (not all of my posts will be this detailed but I figured you'd want to know them since this was our first visit!)  2nd visit:  We went outside when I got there and he peed.  Then we went outside and played.  I took him out again before I left and he pooped.  I think he peed to but I'm not certain.... sometimes it is hard to tell!

Reasons #3 & 4:  Brady & Ferguson.  The boys just love everyone.  Today they got to say hello to someone working on a house nearby.

Reasons #5 & 6:  Sunny & Louis - These guys are two of the sweetest dogs.  I love the fact that Louis is a rescue (and was rescued as an adult.)

Reason #7:  Max.   Sweet, ole Max.  Max is 17.  It takes him a few minutes to stand up when I come and see him bless his heart but he gets up and we go outside so he can do his business.

Reason #8:  Cleo.  I call her Miss Cleo.  (I actually have nicknames for most of the pets I see... perhaps I will put them in the next newsletter!)  She makes me laugh everytime I walk into her house.  She is always sleeping upstairs... always!  I'll walk in and call her, sometimes twice and she comes down the stairs and then just gets so excited.  I kneel down to pet her and I always get kisses.

Reason #9:  Dusty.  He's just always so happy.  His tail goes non-stop when I walk him.  It's pretty funny... I can just tell he's happy!

Lesson # 13:  Starting See Spot Run is one of the best things I've ever done!
