Dog Running, Dog Walking and Cat Sitting on Thurs 4/8

Buddy is getting back into dog running shape.... we both have a ways to go after such a cold, rainy winter! Jackson - Jackson was laying in the sunroom just watching me as I walked up today.  When I came in, he didn't even come to greet me.... I'm guessing he was watching something outside that had his attention.  He was a very good boy this morning.  He was outside and when I called him, he came in.  I didn't even have to say "treat!"  2nd visit:  it was raining.... he sure does love to get toweled off.  That fired him up but then he settled right down when he saw the food in his bowl.

Baby & Calico - Baby greeted me on the steps when I came in today.  I fed them, gave them fresh water, cleaned the litter box and vacuumed up after them.

Sweetie - We actually had 2 short walks today, I'll explain.  It looked like it was going to pour this afternoon so I didn't want to venture too far from Sweetie's house. I know she doesn't like the rain so we just walked up and down your street.  It barely sprinkled on us.  I wasn't planning on walking her on my 2nd visit but it was raining and she looked at me like "I'm not going outside!"  So, I grabbed her leash and then she got over not going out in the rain.  We didn't walk very far... just long enough for her to at least pee :)  Mission accomplished!

Maggie - Maggie got to see Zoe and Keagan on her walk today.  She was really happy to see them and she really wanted to play with them!

George & Alex - Alex was funny today.. he made me laugh a couple of times.  He got spooked on the walk... there was all kinds of stuff falling out of the trees b/c of the wind.  Some of it landed by him and it spooked him.  I had to laugh... perhaps I shouldn't have but it was funny :)  Of course then he realized he wasn't in any danger and he wanted to chase after it blowing in the wind!  Alex and I played fetch in the house and George got belly rubs.  2nd visit:  we must be living right.  We dodged the rain.  We may have taken our longest walk yet this afternoon.

Brady & Ferguson - Brady has this thing lately about biting my leg as soon as he comes out of his crate... I'm not sure what is up with that.  He always catches me by surprise... I'm just not expecting it.  I guess before he'd bite at my pants legs and now I'm wearing shorts b/c it has been so hot.  Perhaps this isn't something new now that I think about it.  The boys enjoyed their walk today!

Sunny & Louis - They chased each other, peed after each other and both enjoyed their walk.  It wasn't raining but it was really breezy.  It felt nice!

Max - Max made me laugh today.  He barely made it into the grass when he peed:  front 2 feet in the grass, back 2 feet still on the driveway.

Alex & George - We had a long walk this morning.  It didn't seem quite as hot - there was a nice breeze blowing.  Alex pooped too.  He of course loved his lunch and George enjoyed his treats too.  2nd visit:  it was still really nice outside so we took a longer walk.  George pooped this time too.

Jackson - Jackson had a nice morning.  He went outside and peed and then when he came back in the house, I had his leash ready so we could go for a walk.  He was in heaven... so much so I had a hard time getting his harness on him :)  I did though and needless to say, he loved his walk!

Sully - Sully barked up a storm but he went outside!!  Treats were used of course to coerce him into going outside but the did.  Yea Sullivan Dancing Bear Brown!

Brady & Fergie - the boys and I took a long walk around the neighborhood.  They are doing really well on the leash!

Steve - cutie pie Steve and I took a short walk.  His tongue was hanging out so I figured he was ready for some water.  We played fetch inside for the rest of the visit!

Max - Max was awake when I came in today.  He got up and went outside to pee.

Cleo - She was most interested in eating grass today..... she did pee of course and she pooped too!

Maggie - Maggie and I made the big loop around the neighborhood.  We both enjoyed a change of scenery.  She did lots of sniffing and she pooped!

Baby & Calico - Baby met me at the stairs when I came in and she spent most of the visit either rubbing up against me, the wall, the bed... you get the picture :)  I pet her and Calico too.  Baby did stop rubbing for a few minutes to eat when I fed them.  I cleaned out their box too.

Dog walking on Tues April 6

Jackson - Jackson has found a very comfy spot for snoozing.  Last night when I came in and this morning, I had to call for him a couple of times before he appeared.  This morning I found him curled up on the pillows on the couch in the sunroom.  He looked pretty cozy!  He did get up and both times I got kisses!  pm visit:  Jackson and I spent the visit outside.  It was just beautiful outside.  He did lots of sniffing but no digging :)

Chester - Chester Man made me laugh this morning.  After he peed, he comes running into the house - that guy loves his breakfast!  We went for a nice walk around the park and he enjoyed lots of sniffing!  2nd & 3rd visits:  We walked on both visits and he loved being outside.  Maybe not as much as he loved his dinner but he certainly does like his walks.  I love the way he "dances" down the driveway.

Alex & George - We walked outside for our morning walk and Alex immediately started barking at the 2 birds in the yard.  He really wanted to go after them but I didn't let him :)  Not that he could've caught them anyway but I don't think he knew that!!  George was sweet George.  I gave him some lovin... he rolled over on the couch so I could rub his tummy.

Jacob & Abby - They pulled a little bit more today during their walk than they did yesterday.  Shannon's going to work with them a little bit tomorrow to see if she can make some progress with them no pulling so much.  She said they had fun and that Jacob has definitely been enjoying his lunch!

Brady & Ferguson -We walked outside the gates today... until Fergie tongue was hanging out of his mouth.  They both got a good drink of water when we got back inside.

Louis & Sunny - Louis enjoyed his walk and he pooped while we were out.  Sunny was happy to be back in the house today!

Max - Max wasn't very interested in going out today... it was really hot out.  He wasn't out very long but when he came back inside, his fur was pretty warm.

Cleo - Miss Cleo was fine to pee in her yard a few times and then she was done.  It was too hot for her!

Dog Walking on Monday April 5

Chester - We have the routine down:  pee, eat, walk but I can't decide if Chester likes his food more or his walks more.  Maybe the food wins by a pinch!  He is doing just great and I am enjoying spending time with him.  2nd and 3rd visits:  The Monster is doing just great!  We've had 3 nice walks today.

George & Alex - I really like the new leashes.  They are much easier for me use.  George just trots along beside me and I reel Alex in every now and again.  At first, I let him doing his sniffing, etc and then we "walked."  He did really well!

Brady, Ferguson and Keagan - the boys had a play date today and look at how big Keagan has gotten!  They mainly just laid in the shade.  It was hot out already!

Sunny & Louis - We walked all around today.  Sunny enjoyed standing with his head high in the air, just taking in the sun.

Chester - I saw Chester early this morning but I don't think he minded.  He enjoys his breakfast whatever time it is.  We took a short walk up and down the street and he pooped!  2nd & 3rd visits:  We took walks on both afternoon visits.  He seems just fine and I thought he would enjoy a little time out of the house.  I can tell... he actually expects to go for a walk every time I come over.  He sees me and he thinks "WALK!!" Sparky - Sparky still has his rawhide bone!  He took it outside with him again this morning (I think...) but if not, you'll find it in the house.  I bet he eats it when you get home!

Basil - Basil stretched out on his side right when I came in today.  I brushed him and let him rub his face up against the brush too.  He really likes doing that!

Lo & Sprinkles - they'd eaten all of their food from yesterday so they seemed pretty happy when I fed them again :)  Someone coughed up a small furball in the laundry room.  They both seemed totally fine though!

Sparky - Sparky was doing just fine this morning.  He was ready to go outside!  He came back inside to eat but that didn't take very long and then he was back out the front door.  I threw his tennis ball for him a few times too.  He still has that rawhide! Chester - Chester went out to pee, came in to eat and then we took a walk.  He turned left at the end of the driveway, usually we turn right.  We walked for maybe 15-20 minutes.  On the way back really close to your house, I think I noticed a little "getty-up" in his step.  I'll keep an eye on it and we'll do a short walk at lunchtime just so he can stretch his legs.  btw - the black car is going to need a bath.  It is covered in pollen!  2nd visit:  Chester seemed just fine.  We took a walk just up and down your street.  I didn't notice anything going on with his back legs this time. :)

Basil - Basil ate a little bit while I was there and then he stretched out in front of me so I could brush him.  He is really shedding :)

Lo and Sprinkles - they ate a little too bit and then they were ready to play.  They didn't want to with the toys I tried yesterday so today I picked up a different string.  They both went after it.... well Lo more so than Sprinkles.  Sprinkles just kind of laid there and would reach out a paw as it went by!
